Our van is the 5th member of the band and it’s something that we rely on to get us from city to city, safely and on time. It’s our horse, our trusty steed and something that often feels like our home when we’re on the road. After 300,000 amazing miles our current van, The Old Gray Goose, is on it’s last legs. It’s up on the lift at the mechanics as I am writing this letter.
After weighing our options on what to do next and not wanting to slow our pace of progress and touring, we’ve decided to launch this campaign through Pledge Music to help raise the funds needed to get us a new band vehicle and keep the band on the road.
We really want to make this experience special, so we’ve put together a bunch of exclusive items to offer you in return for your generosity.
Things like VIP Concert Experiences, an exclusive Rufus T-Shirt, a Season Pass to the Narrows Center in Fall River, House Concerts, Naming the Van and a lot more!! You can even become an honorary Hersch for a day, I mean, how cool is that?
Take a look at what we’ve put together for you and let’s have some fun making this project come to fruition. We thank you in advance for your generosity and for your continued support. 2015 has already been an incredible year and we really looking forward to keeping things moving in an upward and ongoing direct. With your help we can make this happen.
Let’s get the wheels in motion!! –Ward, Paul, Josh & Chris
We are very excited to become a GHS Strings Artist.
The first pack of strings I ever owned was a set of GHS Boomers that my parents bought me on a trip to Times Square in NYC. I was probably 8 or 9 years old at the time and was totally sold on the cool packaging and the idea that this would take me one step closer to my rock ‘n’ roll idols.
It would be another 15 years before I actually learned to play the guitar. What can I say, sometimes I work slowly! But, I’ve been a GHS fan since the very moment my desire to make music started turning into something real. Every time I see a pack of GHS strings I can’t help, but think about that day in Times Square.
Yowza is this a good line up for a festival. We are stoked to be a part of it and in addition to rockin’, we are geared up to get rocked by the likes of ZZ Top, Gary Clark Jr. and Blackberry Smoke to name a few.
